MAPEAMENTO DAS ESTRUTURAS DE DEFESA LITORÂNEA E MITIGAÇÃO DE PROCESSOS EROSIVOS EM PERNAMBUCO - BRASIL

Coastal erosion is characterized by the exchange of energy between the terrestrial and marine environments through the sedimentary balance. This process has as main factors climatic, oceanographic and topographic conditions. Human settlement in the coastal zone is one of the main aggravating factors for erosive processes along the coastline, resulting in serious socio-environmental problems, which are commonly mitigated by the implementation of rigid coast line stabilization structures. The coast of Pernambuco has visibility in the search for solving problems of coastal erosion and mitigation of intense human occupation in one of the shorter coastal stretches of Brazil. The presence of coastal protection on the beaches of Pernambuco have unknown impacts on sedimentary circulation patterns, especially in the coastal currents, such effects may generate undesirable results in beach morphology and anomalies in the medium to long term. The present study seeks to understand the distribution of these shaping structures of the coastline, as well as to analyze through a sample section in the coast line the temporal evolution of the effects of sedimentary accumulation caused by the use of coastal protection structures. The se analyzes were obtained by remote sensing, geographic information system environment and database about the evidence of problems related to coastal erosion on the beaches of Pernambuco.
