MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR CREATION AND CAPTURE OF KNOWLEDGE IN BRAZILIAN SMES THAT CONSTRUCT BUILDINGS WITH ERP

ERP systems provide organizations with access to a set of information, assisting them to obtain gains in the reduction of costs and in the increase of productivity and competitiveness. However, the success of these systems depends on how the creation and capture of knowledge are managed and on which practices are employed to facilitate this process. This paper aims to identify organizational practices that contribute to the creation and capture of knowledge in Brazilian SMEs that construct buildings with ERP system. The study of multiple cases was the chosen technical procedure to collate the theoretical and empirical field. Results reveal the existence of informal efforts, disoriented and intuitive; embryonic actions not consistent with formal knowledge management practices. This demonstrates that the role of these practices in companies has not been perceived if formalized.
