INFLUÊNCIA DE OBRAS DE PROTEÇÃO COSTEIRA NO CONTROLE DE EROSÃO NA PRAIA CENTRAL DE MARATAÍZES (ES)

The coastal zones are regions with great movement of energy, that are located undera transition area, between the continent and the sea. This region is characterized by a great diversityof natural and biological resources, which draws attention to economic investments in the realestate market, industries and port movement, in addition to tourism. The development of theseactivities generates the anthropic impact associated with the oceanographic, geological and climaticcharacteristics of the site, provoking or stimulating the erosive processes, which constitute coastalerosion. Coastal erosion involves the transport of sediments from one site to another, formingenvironments with deposition and removal of sediments. The Espirito Santo coast presents fragilityin relation to the erosive processes that occur along its coast, considering this theme, the presentstudy will address the action of coastal protection works, as a way to mitigate the occurrence oferosive processes in Central Beach in municipality of Marataizes.
