    Resumo

Introduction: The Internet provides countless ways to access, produce, and share information, including health information. Mothers and women have used the Internet to search for information, primarily to support their breastfeeding practices. Although it has endless advantages for maternal and child health, the prevalence of breastfeeding in Brazil is still not reached ideal levels. Objective: Considering this setting, this paper describes and analyzes the quality of information on breastfeeding websites. Methods: Based on a participant survey and guided by the Knowledge Translation framework, nineteen sites were evaluated by health professionals, experts, and residents of the Manguinhos community. Five criteria established by the literature and international experiences were used, namely, Technical, Interactivity, Comprehensiveness, Readability, and Accuracy. Results: Only three of the nineteen sites achieved 70% compliance with the stipulated indicators and criteria. Conclusion: It is necessary to observe the quality of breastfeeding sites.
