Mining is considered one of the jobs with the highest accident occurrence rate; for this reason, an analysis of fatal accidents in Peruvian mining was carried out Objective: To perform a statistical analysis of fatal accidents that occurred in Peruvian mining between 2010 – 2021, in order to determine an improvement in the implementation of risk management and prevention procedures Methods: Free access data was collected from the “Ministerio de Energía y Minas - Perú”, on the accident rates in the Peruvian territory, using a descriptive, quantitative-qualitative methodology, using the technique of documentary-statistical analysis with SPSS software. Results: The occurrence of 425 fatal accidents was determined in the study period, resulting in 504 fatalities. The type of accident with the highest recurrence was rockfall, representing 14.35% or 61 accidents of the total. Regarding the initiative of an implementation of risk prevention and management procedures, Deming's methodology was proposed, proposing a cycle of planning, doing, verifying and acting Conclusion: Regarding the years of study, there is a decreasing trend due to factors such as the implementation of Peruvian occupational health and safety regulations; about the implementation procedure, planning and structuring risk management and prevention procedures according to the data found and knowing the incidence of the factors causing accidents, proposes a severe reduction in accident rates.
